Blameless Word
‘Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes…’ Mal.3:10-11.
A lot of believers have questions about tithing. Some say they always bring an offering to God but do not tithe so they want to know if God will kill them. I would say no, God won’t kill you but devourers just might because they will face your finances. The only answer to avoiding devourers is to tithe, nothing more nothing less. The Word of God is clear on this. God says ‘should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! But you ask, what do you mean? When did we ever cheat you? You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me’ Mal.3:8. You answer it for God, should people continue to cheat God? For some people the reason they are not tithing is because God is blessing them and everything is going on smoothly. Since nothing is going wrong they do not see any reason why they should tithe? Be warned because the day the devourer would start, it is usually very terrible. God said to Israel ‘you are under a curse, for your while nation has been cheating me’ Mal.3:9. By God’s grace, I am a student of the Bible and I have not seen any other place in Scriptures that God gives us permission to test Him except in the area of tithing. If you have seen let me know. God says ‘…try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe…’. Mal.3:10-11. When it comes to tithes and offerings God is clear on His position. You are to bring them into His house otherwise you are cheating Him. So to give an offering and not tithe may not necessary translate to God killing you. You don’t have an issue with God; you have an issue with the devourers. Someone says that if you don’t tithe ten percent to God, then be prepared to tithe a hundred and ten percent to the devil. The devil will not only collect what you have, he will make you borrow and collect that too. Is that not a hundred and ten percent? It is wise to obey God and reap the blessings of obedience? You don’t want to be under a curse.
Prayer: Father, have mercy on me and help me make amends for the times I have cheated You. Strengthen me and help me walk blameless before You, in Jesus Name.
