With God And With Men I

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right’ 2 Tim.3:16

As a child of God you have to let your relationship with the Father dictate your relationship with man and not vice versa. People often wonder if surrendering to Christ means opting out of their existing relationships. Well the truth is that most of the relationships that started outside of Christ start on a wrong foundation. Therefore, when you find Christ you find out that the things that used to connect you suddenly do not exist anymore. Christ has suddenly become the center of your own world and not the person you are in a relationship with. Now if you both have not found Christ, it most likely that the relationship will collapse because of a conflict of interests. It is simple, the things you used to do, you don’t do them anymore. The places you used to go to, you don’t go there anymore. Old things have passed away and all things have become new. Keeping that relationship at that time might cost you your salvation. Interestingly sometimes both people in the relationship are God approved for each other but the timing is just not right.

There are ladies who in the past got pregnant for a man, moved in with him but somewhere along the line, they found Jesus. And now they are wondering if they should still continue in the relationship. Some are guys whose relationship started out as cohabiting but now the lady has two children. While you may have developed a deep sense of attachment to that person, staying together under your current circumstances is wrong. You cannot build on a faulty foundation. God is giving you an opportunity to correct it, so correct it fast. Our relationship with God mandates us to do the right thing, which might mean suspending existing relationships.

Sometimes, if ladies stay in this kind of relationship it leads to abuse. The fact that you made a mistake and had a child for him does not mean you have to marry him. If he is beating you please don’t marry him. Don’t worry, God will sort out your child and give you a man that will love you and take care of you.

Prayer [song]: What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, o what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
