The Difference

‘And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In face, together with Christ we are heirs to God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering’ Rom.8:17.

There are people out there whose struggle is not with hearing God’s counsel but it is with breaking away from the way things have been done all their life. For some, the struggle is that they have been a certain kind of person all their lives. There is good news for you today; Jesus can make the difference in your life. Think about the things God wants to do in your life, think about all that God wants to do with you. Then truthfully answer this question; do you really want to mess all that up? I think the answer is no. God wants to stretch forth His hands and help you. There are some of us who may have been born again at some point but right now the lack of meekness in us is wrecking everything. God is saying to you blessed are the meek. You need to embrace meekness and wear it like a garment because it is the meek that will inherit the earth. There is no inheritance in God outside of Christ. Jesus has released us into a level of blessings that we could never have imagined as a people by going to the cross and dying for us. Jesus died for you and I. So once you come to Christ you are entitled, an heir to this inheritance. Yet it is the things that Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:1-12 that actually release us into these blessings. In other words, once you accept Christ you are entitled to the earth for instance, but it takes meekness to access the land. So Christ gives us an inheritance, He makes us joint heirs but the things that actually deliver the blessing to us are obedience and doing the Word. So you cannot say that Jesus dying for you makes you an heir and yet you continue to live wrongly. What you are doing is prolonging the time of the promise. So, is it our works that will deliver the blessings? No! God says, ‘pay your tithe and I will open the windows of heaven’. Does paying your tithe make you righteous or a child of God? Of course not!  Tithing doesn’t make you righteous but the righteous will tithe. Similarly, doing good to your neighbor doesn’t make you righteous but the righteous will do good. Accept and follow Jesus, He is the difference we all need.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I invite You to make the much needed difference in every aspect of my life today, in Jesus Name.
