A New Outlook
‘This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – and I am the worst of them all’ 1 Tim.1:15
A lot of times, we get lost looking for God in the dramatic whereas God has come to us as a baby in a manger. God gave to us His Son Jesus. Jesus is the reason for the season. However you and I are the reason for His coming in this season in the first place. Without you and I, Jesus would not have needed to come and there will be no reason for Christmas. The significance of Christmas of course is around Jesus but it transcends just Jesus. If the meaning does not come to fruition in our lives then Christmas is wasted. So even though Jesus was the reason for the season, there will be no reason for His coming without you and I. ‘God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life’ John 3:16 [KJV]. God has given us His Son Jesus so that we can give our lives to others. In fact the solution to depression is generosity. You can never be fulfilled without understanding that your life is a gift to be given. It is not about you, your life is not about you anymore. It is not about the things that you can afford or the children that you can have. If that is what you are living for then you just might end up miserable. There is more to life than you and your desires. The purpose for you is a gift to the world. The moment you begin to realize that you are here to give and pour your life, the sooner you’d understand and walk in the reality of true fulfillment. Some of us think that giving is only possible when you have financial power. But the truth is that you do not need money to be generous. In fact, if you cannot give out of your want then you most likely will not give out of your abundance. Yes those who give in plenty will be rewarded but there is something about giving out of your want that catches heavens attention. If you can allow God to do the work of generosity in your heart this season, then you will have received all that you need to fulfill your destiny. You and I were born to give. Over the next few days we will discuss seven things we can give this season and none includes money.
Prayer: Lord, teach me how to celebrate Christmas with a heart of giving so that people can see You through my life, in Jesus Name.
