Pray To God!
‘Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise Him from the skies! Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all the armies of heaven!’ Ps.148:1-2.
It is only when Jesus is being lifted up that angels are free to do what they are created to do. ‘We are standing on holy ground. And I know that there are angles all around. Let us praise Jesus now. We are standing in His presence on holy ground’. As the song points out, the object of our worship is not the angels around us but Jesus Himself. It is only the presence of God that can make a place holy. ‘If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High Read the rest of this entry
Worship God!
‘Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, No don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you… who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship God. For the essence of prophecy is to give clear witness for Jesus’ Rev.19:10
‘Worship God. For the essence of prophecy is to give clear witness for Jesus. What the angel was actually saying is that the whole essence of prophecy is to lift up Jesus. The whole essence of all that the angel had shown John, the heart of it, was to lift up Jesus. So an angel of God will not accept worship but will point to the worship of Jesus. ‘Don’t let anyone condemn you by insisting on pious self-denial or the worship of angels, saying they have had Read the rest of this entry
To Protect
‘Then Peter came to himself and said, Now I know without a doubt that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were anticipating’ Acts 12:11 [NIV].
Angels protect us from danger. ‘Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared… He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. Quick get up! He said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel said to him, Put on your clothes and sandals. And Peter did so. Wrap your cloak around you and follow me, the angel told him’ Acts 12:7-8[NIV]. Every chain that has been placed on your hands and legs will fall off today. God will send His angels to rescue you from all Read the rest of this entry
To Direct and Serve
‘Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him’ Matt.4:11 [NKJV].
Angels can give direction. ‘As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. Joseph son of David, the angel said, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit’ Matt.1:20. Only an angel can say this. When we read the Bible, most times we just read the story. We do not really think carefully about the gravity of the story. Imagine you are a young man and there is a lady that you really love and you want to marry. But because you are a child of God Read the rest of this entry
Show Hospitality
‘Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!’ Heb.13:2
Our focus over the next few days is going to be on what angels do and how they operate. The first thing you must know is that angels can appear to you [Luke 22:43]. ‘While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar’ Luke 1:11. When you see an angel that is not disguised you will know you have seen an angel. They are not babies with wings and cute feathers. Those are not angels, the Bible describes angels as mighty [Ps.103:20]. If you see any of those Read the rest of this entry
Who Are They?
‘For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways’ Ps.91:11
Who are angels in terms of reality? Angels are worshippers. ‘And when he brought his supreme Son into the world, God said, Let all of God’s angels worship him’ Heb.1:6. Jesus is the only person that has lived on earth that angels of God were instructed to worship. So Jesus must be God and He must be supreme. [Read Rev.5:11-12]. Secondly angels are warriors. ‘That night, the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers…’ 2Kings 19:35. One angel killed 185,000 men. How Read the rest of this entry
In His Will
‘Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty one who carry out His plans, listening for each of His commands’ Ps.103:20.
Scripture points to the fact that little children have angels assigned to them and their angels are constantly in the presence of God. Jesus says that unless we are like little children, then we shall not enter the Kingdom of God [Matt.18:3]. There is something about the heart of little children that is acceptable to God and which makes it possible to for them to have angels around them. However, as we begin to grow and dabble into all sorts of negative things, we begin to rebel against God and against what God will have us do. A Read the rest of this entry
Angels
‘Regarding the angels, he says, He sends his angels like the winds, his servants like flames of fire’ Heb.1:8.
There was an old man that lived in the Mediterranean among the Semites. One morning his protégée got up from the bed and went to perhaps fetch water to prepare the house for the day. And the protégée discovered that their house was surrounded with warriors. So he ran to his master and he said ‘Master, there is trouble! What shall we do, they have come for you and we are surrounded’. And his master got up from the bed still robbing his eyes from sleep and said to the young man ‘don’t be afraid for they that are with us are Read the rest of this entry
Be Aware VIII
‘My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey… With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk’ Prov.7:19 &21
The third thing you must know is that we don’t flirt with darkness. ‘Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord…’ Deut.18:10-12 [NIV]. Some believers flirt with the devil by practicing divination, sorcery, and interpreting omens. The enemy will suggest that it is harmless to Read the rest of this entry
Be Aware VII
‘in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes’ 2 Cor.2:11 [NIV]
God wants you to be free. So you need to battle satan. And in battling satan, the first thing you need to know is that we don’t treat our enemy lightly. In a war situation, it is kill or be killed, fire or be fired at. ‘But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!’ Jude 1:9[NIV]. Do not treat the enemy lightly. One of the major lies of the devil that I have seen him use to destroy destinies is he Read the rest of this entry
