Swiftness
‘…the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and [wind] happeneth to them all’ Ecc.9:11 [KJV].
The eagle is swift. It flies faster than most birds, if not all birds. It flies as fast as 217km per hour. People who have been in fast moving cars can relate to how fast this is. In fact by the time your car is going 200 -210 you will advise yourself to slow down because your heart cannot take it. Yet the eagle flies Read the rest of this entry
Maritally Faithful
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder’ Mark 10:9.
The eagle is maritally faithful until death. When a male and female eagle pair up, note eagles lives up to 120 years, they stay faithful till death. They do not cross fences like chickens. The eagle is committed to its spouse until death. In the eagle community, there is marital dignity. Unlike other birds, eagles don’t Read the rest of this entry
Longevity
‘With long life will I satisfy you and show you My salvation’ Psa. 91:16
The fourth secret of the eagle is longevity. Eagles outlive most animals and birds. Eagles can live up to a hundred and twenty years. They outlive a lot of men also. As eagle believers God is saying to you and I, ‘you will fulfill the number of your days’ in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the number Read the rest of this entry
Unusual Strength
‘…they that know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits’ Dan.11:32.
‘They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles’. The eagles have unusual strength. We as Christians have to be strong just like the eagle. One sure way of getting unusual strength comes from waiting on the Lord. It is only God who knows what lies ahead of you and Read the rest of this entry
Fresh Word
‘Give us day by day our daily bread’ Luke 11:3 [KJV]
If the only ‘God said’ that you know is ‘my wife said that God said’ or ‘our pastor said that God said’ then there is a problem. When your wife is not around, you will be in serious trouble. Don’t be an Aaron to Moses or like Aaron when Moses is not around you will also be pressured into making a golden calf [Ex. Read the rest of this entry
Daily Bread I
‘Give us day by day our daily bread’ Luke 11:3 [KJV]
The eagle only eats fresh meat. You will never see an eagle eating meat that it did not kill or eating left overs. In addition to that, the eagle does not waste food. It finishes its meals or divides it amongst its children but nothing is left over. The eagle always eats fresh meals; it does not feed on corruption like the vulture. The vulture can spend two weeks following a dying animal around just waiting for it to die so that it can feed. The eagle is not a scavenger; it is a predator. It likes to hunt and kill its own food.
How does that apply to us? God does not want us to feed on corruption. As leaders and eagle Christians we must flee all appearances of evil. The truth is that those who settle for corruption have settled for limitation in life [Psalm 1]. You must flee all appearances of evil. Eagle Christians should not feed on corruption whether it is physical, financial, or moral corruption.
The eagle is not a parasite; you need to stop being a parasite. Everybody goes through challenging times in life, every body that you can see, no matter how rich or how poor. When you are going through your own, make up your mind not to be a parasite [a mosquito] but to remain an eagle. The eagle Christian does not parasite or scavenge on people spiritually. It does not perch financially. The eagle does not say ‘what will you drop for your boy today’. In other words, you cannot continue looking to another person’s wealth [physical or spiritual] for your own well being. An example of spiritual scavenging would be a man who is always saying ‘my wife said God said – that this is the house we should buy or this is the school for our children. What about you? Does God not talk to you? Refuse to be a spiritual parasite even if it means waking up at midnight to pray. Then wake up and pay the price. Like the eagle seek your daily bread by yourself. Jesus will not teach us to ask for daily bread if the Father has not made provision for it.
Thought: ‘…in God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom’ Ps.1:2-3 [MSG]
Fearless
‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline’ 2 Tim.1:7
The first secret or attribute of the eagle that God wants us to imbibe is that the eagle is fearless. The eagle has absolutely no fear of its prey regardless of its size. This is how God wants us to be – fearless. God’s Spirit is not the spirit of fear. Research results from some Bible scholars indicates that the word ‘fear Read the rest of this entry
Learn From Nature
‘Is it at your command that the eagle rises to the heights to make its nest? It lives on the cliffs, making its home on a distant, rocky crag. From there it hunts its prey, keeping watch with piercing eyes. Its young gulp down blood. Where there’s a carcass, there you’ll find it’ Job 39:27-30.
God uses nature and things we find in nature to teach His children vital lessons and things we can do to achieve certain results. ‘The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.’ Ps.19:1-2 [KJV]. In other Read the rest of this entry
Error To Avoid II
‘Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle’ Prov.23:4-5
Our final lesson from the parable Jesus told [Luke 12:16-21] and a major key to growing financial roots is do not trust in wealth. Riches can develop wings and fly away. Do not put your trust in money. Many of us think it is impossible for us to put our trust in wealth. It is because we really don’t have a lot of money. Read the rest of this entry
Error To Avoid I
‘This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God’ Luke 12:21
‘But God said to him, You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ In learning from the man in the parable Jesus told, the next step to growing financial roots is do not love wealth. Don’t love money. The Bible says that ‘the love of money Read the rest of this entry
