Fresh Start I

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lam.3:22-23

The first thing you need to know as the day breaks, is that you get a new and a fresh start. You get a new and a fresh start. Every morning, as this season affords us, gives us the prospect of fresh opportunities of God’s mercy. Some of us actually believe that we have exhausted God’s faithfulness. Guess what you have not. He is going to show you another dimension of faithfulness today and you will marvel. You too will testify that the faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. And because it is another opportunity for a fresh start, the truth is that tomorrow cannot come unless today dies. Today must die to give way to tomorrow. The challenge with a lot of people is that they are holding unto their today because that is what they are accustomed to. They believe that this is an unusual thing that God is doing, so they will rather stick with their today. But you see, until you let go of today, tomorrow really doesn’t come. So you will have to let go of things that were obtainable yesterday. Your single days were yesterday because a lot of people are going to get married in Jesus Name. Now that you are married it is a totally different ball game. You cannot remain in the memory of your single days because you are not single anymore. You are now a married woman and you are answerable to somebody. The comfort of how you used to do your things is gone. Many men struggle with this. For instance a single man can stay in the office for donkey hours. Even I was guilty of this and God is still helping me. It is because before the single man got married, he was in love with his job. It is good to be in love with your job. If you are guilty of holding unto the yesterdays like I was, it is time to consciously remind yourself that you are in a new day. And with every new day comes a fresh start and a fresh approach to things. You have to let go of yesterday because yesterday is gone! Someone has hurt you badly but now God has brought another person into your life to love you greatly and you keep referring to yesterday. Wake up, yesterday is gone.

Prayer: Father, please give me the grace to embrace the fresh start that You have given me in this new day. I ask for the grace to abound, in Jesus Name.
