Compassion, Faith & Action

Acts 3:6-7 “But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”  Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed…”

Yesterday, we looked at our first lesson, compassion, from the four friends in the story in Mark 2:1-12 [please read]. 1 Cor. 10:24 “People should be concerned about others and not just about themselves.” (GW, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Never Stop

Romans 8:26 “A similar thing happens when we pray. We are weak and do not know how to pray, so the Spirit steps in and articulates prayers for us with groaning too profound for words.” (Voice)

We began to explore the mysteries of prayer yesterday and the first is, Mysteriously It Seems That God Will Not Act Unless We Pray. How can the creator of the Heavens and the earth be limited to the prayers of a mortal man? Read the rest of this entry

Positive Turn

Ex. 17:11-12 “As long as Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning …Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down.” (GNT)

Beginning today, by the grace of God, you will experience a definite positive turnaround in that specific area and in every area of your life in the Name of Jesus. A turning point is a point in time when something happens [like something is happening now], Read the rest of this entry

The Path

John 2:11 “This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.”

John 2:9-10When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” (NRSV, emphasis added). Every time people look at your life and say, “We thought we had seen your best, but this is even better!” Read the rest of this entry

The Charge

Acts 15:32-33 “Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith. They stayed for a while, and then the believers sent them back to the church in Jerusalem with a blessing of peace.”

We will begin today’s devotional by staying with the question from yesterday. People do not get answers because they do not stay with the question for long enough. The question is, who is spiritually better because of you? Read the rest of this entry

New Streams!

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

You need God so do not let anybody talk you out of walking with the Holy Spirit! No matter what part of the world you are in, engaging the supernatural is not an option it is a necessity. What the world is trying to do is to make you spiritually dead, Read the rest of this entry

Step Back

2 Cor. 5:17 (NAB, emphasis added) “So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.”

In order to cheer up when change looks distant, you must stop and Appreciate The Master’s Work, and sometimes that means celebrating the little things. A woman practically dragged her husband to my office because she was convinced, he needed counselling. The problem was, even when she is sitting right beside him, her husband could not help looking at beautiful women. Read the rest of this entry

Appreciate His Work

Ps. 40:5 “O Lord my God, You have done many miracles for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. If I tried to recite all Your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.”

To cheer up when change looks distant, you must stop and Appreciate The Master’s Work. Sometimes, it feels like nothing is changing in our lives. However, when you cannot see any change in your life or see what God is doing, it is because you have not really stopped to look. That is the truth! When I got saved, honestly, I was not expecting a physical change. Read the rest of this entry

Evaluate

Ps. 40:5 “O Lord my God, You have done many miracles for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. If I tried to recite all Your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.”

Your path is unique, you have to accept it because it is God’s unique process for you. “Why should the man always get the biggest piece of meat in the house?”, a lady asked. It is interesting how we worry ourselves for what is nought sometimes. If we would just embrace our destinies, our paths, we will become more powerful people. Read the rest of this entry

Unique

Phillip.1:6 (MSG) “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”

God works in us, with us, and for us. Not without us and not against us. Most times, when something uncomfortable happens, we blame people, we blame the devil. But we do not consider that God may want to use that experience to change us or grow us. When you cooperate with God, Read the rest of this entry
