The Key Of Being
‘He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him’ Gen.2:20
Over the next few days we will be discussing three keys to having a great relationship. The first key to having a great relationship whether married or single is the key of being. Adam was not busy going from one singles event to another trying to look good and not even listening to the speaker. Many singles these days are what I call paranoid. They go from one place to the other just trying to make themselves available. And if the women amongst them hear that there are men in a particular church, they will flock into the church. There might be Bible study going on but these people have their sight set on something totally different so they will not be listening. All they will be doing is trying to get noticed. If you attract anybody like that, I doubt if you will attract a great man because great men are not attracted like that. Some people’s advice to their friends is to get out of the house and stroll along the streets, then perhaps a man will spot them. Is that the kind of man you want to marry? If a friend tells you that, then that friend hates you. A man that will whistle to get your attention, is that the kind of man you want? The person that looks at you and envisions that kind of man for you is not your friend.
The key thing here is that Adam was busy being who God had called him to be. Adam was too busy working that in fact God had to knock him down. The easiest way to attract the right person is being the right person because you will attract your kind. So you be the right person. You cannot have a great relationship without being a great person. A great person leaves you feeling great; a small person leaves you feeling small. If you enter the presence of a great person regardless of how you are feeling, by the time you leave there, you will be on fire. Whether you are feeling ecstatic or not, if you enter the presence of a small person, they will reduce you. Until they reduce you to nothing, they will not rest. Marriage is not about marrying the right person; it is about being the right person.
Prayer: Precious Holy Spirit, please show me what I must do or not do so that I can be the right person in my relationships, in Jesus Name.
