The Truth
‘And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free’ John 8:32
Yesterday we highlighted four levels of money – poverty, lack, comfortable, rich, and the wealthy. The rich are conceited and sadly they are the last to know that they are proud. The wealthy people most often look as simple as can be. Beyond the level of the rich and the wealthy is the level of the flourishing. The Bible says they that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish. The people on this level have a very different attitude to life. When they are in the car they sit in the front with the driver. A rich man will never do that. On Monday mornings, the flourishing don’t rush to work. Monday mornings are their thinking time. Even within the level of the flourishing there are levels. May you not die being rich. If I had said this prayer at the beginning, you probably would have thought I was cursing you but now you see that it is a real prayer. May you actually flourish in the Name of Jesus.
The fifth truth about money is that not every Christian will prosper. Not every Christian will have money. Everyone in God’s Favourite House will prosper in Jesus Name. In fact, if you refuse to prosper we will show you the door. This is not an arrogant statement. I am so passionate about everybody being wealthy and I pray consistently that everybody will be at least wealthy. ‘…there shall be no poor among you; for the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess…’ Deut.15:4 [KJV]. I’ve heard of a man of God that I respect rubbish first-fruit and I smiled because he doesn’t have a clue. Unlike tithe, first-fruit is not compulsory. But for the kind of wealth I am seeing God releasing in my life, I cannot joke with my first fruit. He says ‘so that your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats overflow new wine and new oil’. At the beginning of 2012 I struggled with paying my first fruit because I had a lot of bills to pay. I said to the Lord, you will understand. Thankfully, God convicted me through someone, I repented and paid my first-fruit. What God did in that season shocked me totally. Whoever wants to talk me out of it would have to put a gun to my head.
Prayer: Father, let Your truth cut through every lie that I have allowed to limit me so that I will flourish, in Jesus Name.
