The First

‘And [we obligate ourselves] to bring the first fruits of our ground and the first of all the fruit of all the trees year by year to the house of the Lord’ Neh.10:35 [AMP]

On Wednesday, I started telling you about how God convicted me. At the beginning of 2012 I struggled with paying my first fruit. I am sure this will shock a lot of you but even men of God must be honest with their struggles. I had a lot of bills to pay so I said to the Lord, you will understand. Then a lady came to my office, she wanted me to pray over her first fruit but she also wanted to tell me the story behind her first fruit. When she left my office, I was convicted and I said to myself, you are the pastor, see your sheep is obeying. What kind of pastor are you? So I repented and I paid my first fruit. I cannot even begin to tell you what God did in that season but He shocked me totally. By God’s grace no one can talk me out of paying my first-fruit. The truth remains if you are careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God… The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. I challenge you to read at least the first five books in the Old Testament to help you understand better what first fruit means to God. I pray that God will teach you Himself.

I served under a great man of God. A lot of you know the man of God I am talking about. A very humble and powerful man of God. Someone came to me and said all these men of God of nowadays. She said she used to respect this man of God but she cannot understand how he can be flying in private jet. I said while I am not going to authenticate greed in a lot of us men of God and I am not going to authenticate lavish life styles. But this man of God you are talking about, I seem to know a little bit about him. This man gives like nobody else I have seen thus far. I said do you know what he sowed to get that jet? The jet was not purchased with the church’s money. Someone gave it to him. Her response was that he should sow the jet. The truth is that if he does, he will get ten more, and then what will you say? You have refused to sow your own seed but you are abusing the people that are reaping their own harvest. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that everyone that owns a jet should own a jet. A lot of them have no business owning jets.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace and wisdom to sow for my next level, in Jesus Name.
