Where Power Lies I

Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it’ Matt.16:18.

Jesus says, ‘I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it’. The challenge with a lot of us is that we do not even realize where the power lies when it comes to being Christians. Pay careful attention; the power lies in introducing people to God. You want to be anointed? Jesus said to his disciples, ‘I give you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you’. All the witches, wizards, all the enemies that are trying to trouble you, trying to prevent you from getting into your break through. Jesus, the Maker of the heavens and the earth says He has given you power to trample upon them. In Ephesians 6:10-17 [please read it], Paul was describing the armor of God. He says, ‘put on the whole armor of God’ and then he begins to describe the parts that make up the armor. The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the sword of the Spirit, the shield of faith, and by the time Paul got to the foot, he says your sandals should be shod with the preparation of the gospel. Jesus says, ‘you will trample upon serpents and scorpions’. Paul says don’t trample bare feet, you are equipped with boots to crush serpents and scorpions. What are these boots? The preparation of the gospel of peace! Jesus is the power and the wisdom of God. So if you want power to defeat all your enemies – evangelize. I discovered this truth in 1998, sixteen years ago alone in the wilderness, in the northern part of Nigeria. My approach to evangelism changed because I needed  the power of God. Don’t you need the power of God? The easiest place to see the power of God manifested is when you are preaching [telling people about] Jesus. Have you been living a life devoid of the power of God? Have you spent endless hours on your knees asking God for power to do His work? The solution is in introducing people to Jesus. Some people still cannot find a connection. As you obey and introduce people to God, He will connect the dots before your very eyes.

Prayer: Father, please create opportunities for me to introduce people to Jesus today, in Jesus Name.
