Introduction 102

‘Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you- I am he” …Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” John 4:26, 28-29 [NIV]

You need to be deliberate with making friends with people that are not saved. You may be in a sphere of your life right now that you know you need to run for your life, my sincere advice is run for your new life. But if you feel an urgent need to introduce your friends who are non-believers to Jesus while you are still growing, then perhaps you want to go with another believer so that they don’t pull you back down. But the key thing is you need to form relationships with people that are not saved and you need to be deliberate about it. You need to leave your comfort zone. I checked my life some months back and I realized that everyone around me was saved. So I deliberately began to attend the resident meeting that holds on my street. Ordinarily, I will never attend such meetings but now I do because I want to make friends with people that may be far from God. I have picked up tennis for the same reason. I try to get into more places that I would meet people that are far from God and they are way out of my comfort zone. You have to be willing to do that.

Second Thing: You have to listen to the Holy Spirit’s prompting. True evangelism is to stay in tune with the Holy Spirit and cooperate with Him. You know you are saved but your concern is that you don’t know how to hear from the Holy Spirit. I have good news for you, you hear from Him already. I know because everyone that is saved hears from the Holy Spirit. And I’ll tell you how I know. You get back from work after a long and hard day’s work. All you want to do is shower, eat, and sleep. And you progress in that order but as soon as you hit your bed something says to you, ‘you have not prayed’. I am happy to announce to you that that is the Holy Spirit. That is not your flesh, your flesh has only one agenda and that is sleep. That is not the devil; the devil’s agenda on such days is to get you to sleep and not pray. So that can only be the Lord.  This is an example of the voice of the Holy Spirit. Listen and be tuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Father, help me to have the same reaction as the woman at the well. To freely give Jesus to others as I have freely received Him, in Jesus name.
