‘Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me”’ Luke 10:16

God will require us to move out of our comfort zones. For those who are struggling with a particular tribe, God may send you to start a church in the heart of that very tribe. You need to drop your “better be’s”. You hear people desiring a life partner saying ‘the person I’m going to marry had better be xyz’. Then they have ‘better not be’s’, ‘he/she had better not be short’. But God can choose to give you a short man. Know that the person you are calling short is God’s child and Jesus died for him. That lady you are calling fat, Jesus died for her too. I am going to colour this testimony a little bit but the moral is important. There is a man, very deep spiritually, who wanted to get married. And God was leading him to a lady that was not his “spec”. I don’t know how people come up with the so-called “specs”. And because of his “specs” he had issues with the lady God was leading him to. He was clear it was God’s leading because he hears from God. But he said to me, ‘how can I marry someone like this, these are not my specs’. So he asked me to pray, I did, and told him what God told me. The Lord said ‘my own daughter – what you see is not a permanent thing; the beauty is the person on the inside of her. I know the person I am giving you’. Don’t think that man is short, God knows the person He is giving you.

The 2nd D: Discover stories. The people that are icebreakers continuously develop friendships in order to discover stories. Everybody has a story. The easiest way to reach someone for Christ is to connect with his or her story. You need to find out his or her story. Connecting with people’s stories has an amazing way of opening them up. I moved out of my comfort zone and started up a friendship with someone who knew very little about me. Even though we had clashes here and there, I stuck in there because I was looking out for his story. He told me that he had noticed a consistent pattern; every time it’s the end of the month something always happens that wipes out his entire salary. Story discovered and I said to him let’s talk about that. For me I am connecting to his story, I have seen an opportunity to reach him for Jesus.

Prayer [song]: ‘Do you know why I believe in Jesus. Do you know why He’s so great. After three days, He rose from death. I’ve never seen a man who rose from death like Jesus Christ’ ‘And that is why He is Lord, He is Lord. Amen. He has risen…’
