God’s Way
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
God broke the ice when He sent Jesus to die on the cross for you and me. And now that God has demonstrated how to break the ice, He is saying it is your turn and it is my turn. The ultimate purpose of your destiny and mine is to help people find God. Naaman had a house-help and she helped Naaman find God. It might seem small but in that single act, she fulfilled her destiny. You can be the CEO of the greatest multinational on earth yet the ultimate purpose of your calling is to help people find God. To do that effectively, you need to know the power of stories. Stories are words that are woven into a pattern and words are powerful. We all are familiar with stories. We have encountered them one-way or the other. If you want to teach a child something that you want that child to remember, tell the child a story. That child will never forget that story and by extension never forget the lesson. In fact children love stories a lot. I remember my grandmother telling us a lot of stories; popular stories of how the tortoise broke its back accompanied by songs. Jesus almost never taught without telling a story- stories of the prodigal son, the woman with the ten pieces of silver, the shepherd who lost one sheep out of a hundred, the story about the widow who sought after justice. Jesus always told stories. It probably would shock you to hear that Jesus made up most of those stories. He was just trying to teach us, His children, a lesson or a moral. Understanding the impact that stories have, God wants you to be able to tell His story. God’s story is that there is a God and there are people but there is a gulf in-between. The gulf was caused by people choosing their own way instead of God’s way. Over time, man tried to fill that gap with works, drugs, sex, alcohol, and some even created religions. All the different religions in this world are man’s attempt to bridge the gap to God. The clearest definition of religion is man’s way to God. But Christianity is not a religion because it is not man’s way to God. Christianity is God’s way to man [John 3:16]. If man has a way to God and God has a way to man, which is the surest way? God’s way! Jesus came and bridged the gap so that the sons of men can become the sons of God.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for Jesus. Lead me to share Jesus, in Jesus Name.
