Before and After IV

‘So let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good’ Job 34:4

It is my earnest prayer that we will cause our community to say, ‘those people at God’s Favourite House are so passionate about Jesus. The way they tell the story of their God makes you want to join them. In fact, I am going to their church next Sunday’ [say amen]. Between things that used to be and the things that are now, there is usually a turning point. And that turning point is the cross of Calvary. If there is no change then that change should happen today. I encourage you, in this season, to take some time and write down your salvation story in your study journal. Write it with as much humility and clarity as you can muster. Write down details of who you used to be, what happened when you met Christ, and who by the grace of God you are becoming. Detail the great changes that have taken place in your life since you became born again. In the words of the very famous repentance song, “Great change since I’m born again- the things I used to do, places I used to go, clothes I used to wear, friends I used to keep, lies I used to tell, fights I used to fight, gossip I used to gossip, movies I used to watch – no more because there is a great change”.

Story destroyer #4: Superior talk. You hear people who are meant to be evangelizing saying things like ‘when I used to be in sin like you and I was perishing like you are now’. That is not going to help anybody. I want you to find one person that helped you find God or helped you stand for God and thank him/her. Just send a text message saying ‘thank you for helping me find Christ or stand for Him’. If all of them have gone to be with the Lord or you can’t think of anyone then ask the Holy Spirit to show you one person, He will. I am trusting God that you are not one of those who know more than what they do. I pray that your knowledge base will not be higher than your obedience base because that is a formula for trouble spiritually. Remember you will be held accountable for what you know and it will be scaled side by side with what you do. So for him that knows what to do and does not do it – trouble. And that is why the church has remained ineffective because people hear the Word, they know what to do but they just don’t do it. May God help us all in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, birth in me a new passion for Christ Jesus and for lost souls, in Jesus Name.
