He’s Able

‘Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?’ Luke 18:7

The future belongs to those who believe with all their heart that God is able to do all that He says He will do. The future belongs to those who believe with every cell in their body that if God says ‘A’, regardless of what they can see, ‘A’ will surely come to pass. The future does not belong to the people that say, seeing is believing. The future belongs to the people that say, if I believe then I will see. You know the story of Abram. Abram means exalted father yet he did not have a child. And everywhere Abram went people were calling him exalted father. Won’t you be tempted to change your name if everywhere you go they keep reminding you of what you don’t have? In fact, if it were some wicked people, they will torture him with that name. But Abram stuck with the name because he believed God with all his heart. And when God was to change his name, I thought God was going to change it to something less embarrassing. But God changed it to Abraham – father of nations. Isn’t God comical? Father of nations? But Abraham believed God!

The word for you this morning is, believe God! Do not give up on God. Do not rationalize God. Believe God because the future belongs to those that believe God. Daniel believed God. His accusers manipulated the situation and they had to throw Daniel into the lion’s den. On the way to the den, Daniel could have buckled but Daniel believed God. Many times, many of us would rather God does not take us to any lion’s den. We say to God, ‘God, I believe You, so please no lion’s den’. But God says, ‘the lion’s den would prove that you believe Me’. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you know the very popular story. They were put in the furnace that was heated seven times over. Before they went into the furnace they said to the king, ‘we need to tell you this incase we don’t come out. The God we serve is able to deliver us but even if He doesn’t, we will not bow’. And they went through the fire. Again we would rather not go through the fire because the thought of fire is scary. But guess what, even in the midst of the fire, God is still God and He is able.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach me to keep my eyes on You and not what I can see, in Jesus Name
