Your Heart
‘The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live!’ Deut.30:6.
Many of us have experienced those seasons where your heart questions ‘what is God doing? He is not answering prayers any more’. And it seems as though the wait is forever. Some of us opt to look for an alternative or better still do things ourselves. The truth? You are short changing yourself. David said, ‘I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed [his children] begging bread’. You and your children, and your children’s children will be taken care of by the Most High God in Jesus Name.
Some of us flirt with sin and sin becomes the impurities that we allow into the pottery that the Potter is making. Sin always scars; it always delays destiny, and it always messes things up. Some of those impurities that the Potter has to re-mold are the ones that the clay has allowed to hide in itself. But God loves us too much to send us into the fire without taking all the impurities out. So I implore you my brothers and sisters, the things that you know could be delaying the fulfillment of God’s plans and purposes for your life, cut them off. Those little lies, those little bribes, those little compromises here and there – cut them off! At the end of the day, it is never worth it. It is not worth trading your birth right for a plate of beans. Ask Esau, he wept bitterly for the blessings of his father and he couldn’t get it. When you play with sin, it is like trading the wealth in the covenant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob for a plate of beans. It is never worth it!
Another thing about the clay is that the clay has to stay moist and stay soft. I believe staying moist and staying soft is really the condition of your heart. It is really how malleable you are, how moldable you are, how soft you are. You may argue with this line of thought but I opt to agree with the line of thought that says, “we determine the condition of our hearts but the grace of God helps us to fulfill the right determination of the condition of our heats”. Let me explain; you can choose to be merciful and the grace of God will help you show mercy to a lot of people. Or you can choose to be hardened and be wicked to a lot of people. You determine.
Prayer [song]: ‘Lord I give You my heart. I give You my soul. I live for You alone. Every breath that I take. Every moment I’m awake. Lord, have Your way in me’. Amen!
