Moral Imperative II

‘The Lord said to Moses, “Get going, you and the people you brought up from the land of Egypt…Then Moses said, “if you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place’ Ex.33:1 & 15.

Does your vision deliver a moral imperative? Does your vision deliver a sense of responsibility so strong that it becomes an instruction for you? If you see someone that is lethargic and has no fire in his or her life, it’s a vision issue. It may be a suggestion for other people but for you it is an instruction. For some people it may be a suggestion; they do not have to work in a school for instance. But for me it is an instruction; I can’t do without working in a school. This is just an example. A moral imperative so strong it becomes law to you. Paul says, ‘woe is me if I don’t preach the gospel’. The calling to preach the gospel, to Paul, had become law. There are a lot of Christians that don’t feel that way about preaching the gospel; they just don’t. You have to encourage and stir them up, then they will evangelize but they will forget again. Then you remind them and they forget again. But for someone like Paul, he placed himself on a curse if he does not preach the gospel. That is what vision does to you. A great preacher  went to God and said, ‘give me Wales/England or I die; give me this nation or I die’. There are many pastors who do not feel called to this nation. They do not feel a burden for Nigeria and you can tell. But for some, you can also tell that they feel the pain of and a burden for this nation Nigeria. I wish somebody will stand up and say to God, ‘give me Nigeria or I die’. That person may just be reading this devotional today.

The second thing in authenticating the vision is you can do it for free. Although you are going to get paid and you have bills to pay, but in the real sense of it, you can do it for free if you don’t get paid. If all your bills were taken care of – your children’s school fees, house rent, mobility have been sorted out, would you still do this thing?

The third thing is the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, ‘you will hear a voice behind you saying this is the way walk in it’. The Holy Spirit will confirm to you.

The fourth thing in authenticating the vision is counsel. ‘In the multitude of counselors there is safety’. After you have heard from God, the next thing is counsel.

Prayer: Precious Holy Spirit, please guide me continually and into establishing Your vision in me, in Jesus Name.
