Waiting Time V
“So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return’ Matt.25:13.
A lot of people are saying, when will Jesus come? Will Jesus really come? It is taking a long time. Listen, the issue is not whether Jesus will come or not because Jesus will come. The issue is will you be ready? The best time to get ready is now for that next thing you are trusting and waiting on God for. When is the best time to get ready? The best time is now. Why? Take note, the light is about to change. Preparation matures us for the vision. Like someone said, “it is not enough to do the right thing, you must do the right thing for long enough”. So while we wait, while the light is on yellow, let us enthusiastically begin to prepare.
Pondering matures the vision in us. Prayer paves way for God to work. People propel us further faster. And Preparation matures us for the vision. If you get the waiting season right, the whole period of engineering becomes a breeze. The waiting season is not only an important season but it is the toughest season. Are you ready?
A long time ago, we were to have a workers [volunteers] appreciation event. So we asked everyone to rate themselves; just to kind of show us who was doing what. And it raised a lot of dust back then because some people felt they had bad press. But the night before the appreciation, God showed up. He came to me in a vision and showed me my own report card for that season. I was not ready. I would have been ready but for one thing. God was saying to me “even you weren’t ready”. I wept bitterly and I said to God “the next time You come, I will be ready”. That season passed but I am happy to announce to you that the next time He came I was ready because I was broken. I made up my mind never to be caught napping again. There are people who do not understand why we serve God the way we do. Or why we do the things of God with such urgency. And they are wondering- are they chasing these people? Yes! Some people would say, ‘you have done a lot’. My response usually is -done what? We are just scratching the surface; yes we have started but we have not really started. If you are not saved, this is a good time to be ready for when the Lord comes. Jesus being the Lord of your life is very important for your preparation.
Prayer [song]: Will you be ready when the Lord shall come? I will be ready (3x), when the Lord shall come.
