In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee’ Luke 1:26

When you read 1 Samuel 16: 1-13, another thing that stands out is God selected David. God skipped Eliab, skipped Abinadab, skipped Shimea, skipped four others and selected David. For God to do that, God said concerning Eliab ‘I have already rejected him’. I am praying today that that will not be your testimony from God. What made David acceptable and made Eliab detestable? What is that thing that makes us irresistible to God? I am praying that God will reveal it to us, in Jesus name. God selected David. It was God who told Samuel who to anoint. The good news for us is that God knows how to locate us, He does! God knows how to locate you. Many times we get anxious; will my time pass, maybe I have missed my opportunity. Listen your time will not pass. God is going to jump the Eliab, Abinadab, Shimea, and pick you. And that is why He is sending this message now.

The next thing that stands out when you read 1 Samuel 16: 1-13 is a derivative of Samuel almost making a mistake. Man judges on the outward appearance but God judges the heart. So if you must impress people then you must take care of your appearance. If you are going for a job interview, who are you looking to impress – angels? So what you should do is have a good bath and brush your teeth. Don’t go and put them off. These things sound so simple but they are so powerful. Imagine someone comes to sell something to you. Maybe you want to consider buying the product from the person but the person opens his mouth and a stench oozes out. What will you do? You probably would look for the fastest way to exit the scene. Man looks at the outward appearance. Ladies that’s a key for you, men look on the outward appearance. “But pastor I want to marry a spiritual man”. Exactly, a spiritual-man. Not a spiritual-angel. If you read this in context you will know that I am by no means saying everything is physical. But you cannot just be shabby, you can’t. I was not always careful about how I looked; as far as I was concerned it was all about the anointing. But my wife used to say to me that people would see you before they hear you. And it changed my life; I thank God for a good wife.

Prayer: Father, I plead the Blood of the Lamb over my life. So that when You find me, nothing in my life will repel You in me, in Jesus Name.
