In Comes David…

‘So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said, “This is the one; anoint him.” 1 Sam.16:12

The drama in David’s life continues, Samuel said, ‘Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.”When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town came trembling to meet him. “What’s wrong?” they asked. “Do you come in peace?” “Yes,” Samuel replied’ 1 Sam.16:4-5. You need to understand this, for Samuel to come into a city unannounced and the elders were terrified. Now for that Samuel to say no one, including him, would sit down until this David comes. Phenomenal! Do you know the panic that must have occurred there? Everybody was looking for David – everybody. I am prophesying today, the same way there was a frantic effort to search out David, heaven will command there to be a search party for you, in the mighty Name of Jesus. ‘So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said, “This is the one; anoint him.” 1 Sam.16:12. David was dark. Not dark in the African sense; the Jewish people have light skin, almost like the English. David was reddish like the half cast.

What other people do and don’t get away with it, David will do and go free. Saul touched a priestly responsibility and he lost his kingdom. David will say, “give me an ephod” and he will consult. David ate the bread that was meant for the priest alone and nothing happened. Little advice, do not attempt to copy the actions of some people. Territories that others enter into and loose their heads; David would enter into it and come out with the head of the enemy. There is something about this David. His whole family, elders of Bethlehem, the prophet, all of them were at attention and David was ushered in. There is something that we need to get today for starters about David. The key to the Samuels, elders of Bethlehem, Jesses of this world, his brothers, his sisters, mother, and all his father’s concubines standing still for David to come in is wrapped in where David was coming from. David was coming from obscurity, from the wilderness. How you handle obscurity will determine how far you will go in life.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, prepare me for the crown that You are preparing for me, in Jesus Name.
