Indispensable

‘Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matt.18:19-20 [NKJV].

The final thing Jesus highlighted is the communality of prayer or the plurality of prayer. You will observe that Jesus said, this is how you should pray Our Father; Give us this day; Our daily bread; Forgive us as we forgive; lead us not; deliver us. All the highlighted portions are plural. A major key to explosive results in prayer is praying together. I am an advocate for personal prayer and by God’s grace I do a lot of personal prayer. But I am also an advocate for communal prayer because if one will chase a thousand and two will chase ten thousand, how many will two thousand people chase? Explosive! None of us is as anointed as all of us. So when you bring your big and mighty anointing and we all add our own portions of anointing, it becomes explosive. Then what is available corporately becomes available for you as a person. This is so powerful. Jesus is teaching us that the communality of prayer is totally indispensable. This is why you and I cannot afford to miss out on corporate spiritual exercise as a church and during our seasons of waiting on God. Also at our life groups because we hold hands, agree, and pray together. And we see God move.

Jesus is teaching us to pray. However you and I will discover that the greatest answer to prayer is God Himself. When you have come up with your list and presented your request to God. God expects you to bring a list because He loves to answer those prayers. By the time God has finished answering those prayers, you will discover that you suddenly are closer to Him. You will discover that your fellowship with God is tighter and more important to you than the answered prayers. In His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand there are pleasures for evermore. God wants to do you good. I want you to make your request known to God. God’s Word says give us this day our daily bread. Why don’t you just ask God for your daily bread – for that which you need now.

Prayer: Father, I honor You. I worship You. Hallowed be Your name, O Lord! Father, let Your counsel stand in my life, my business, my home, in God’s Favourite House, and in Nigeria. Let Your Kingdom come and let Your will be done, in Jesus Name.
