Ignore and Speak

‘Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?” He then turned away to someone else and brought up the same matter, and the men answered him as before’ 1 Sam.17:29-30 [NIV].

Until David got up and left there was nothing like goliath, talk less of killing goliath – until David obeyed Jesse. The problem with a lot of us is that we are more educated that Jesse. Who is Jesse? After all when God came to anoint a king, He jumped even Jesse and anointed me. O big me! If David had not obeyed Jesse, David would have died an anointed shepherd boy. May you not die an anointed shepherd boy, in the Name of Jesus. So I ask you again, what has Jesse told you to do?

The conversation with Eliab. The second conversation David had is the conversation with Eliab his eldest brother. Please read 1Sam.17:28-30. Eliabs could be spirits or they could be men or women. Eliabs know you inside out; they have known you for a long time. In this case, Eliab was even there from birth. Your presence infuriates and upsets the Eliabs. The Eliabs call you what God has not called you. They call you proud, conceited, evil, and wicked. But God has not called you that. Eliabs try to shut you up. They won’t help you but they would not even let you be. Eliabs are the enemies within. You must prevail over Eliab. You will prevail over Eliab in, Jesus Name. Eliab must be conquered before Goliath is conquered. How do you conquer Eliab? Firstly, answer him back. Secondly, ignore him and just continue doing what you are doing. David ignored Eliab and continued asking everybody what the reward was for the person who kills goliath. Eliabs are always full of themselves.

The conversation with the soldiers. The third conversation David had was the conversation with the soldiers. Please read 1Sam.17:26-27, & 30. One common trait among visionaries is they find it difficult to keep their mouths shut. If you are able to keep quiet – totally mute about your vision, it is probably not real to you. Visionaries and dreamers are talkers. Ask Joseph, the more he dreamed, the more he spoke. In fact, when he was approaching his brothers, they said ‘Behold the dreamer’. Visionaries try to keep quiet but the more they try to keep quiet, the more the vision burns in them like fire. But you have to be a wise visionary and say your vision to the right people.

Prayer: Father, I pray that the voice of encouragement will not be lacking in my life. I ask for the verbal, emotional, and physical strength to defeat Eliabs, in Jesus Name.
