All-Powerful Name

‘This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds… and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel’ 1Sam.17:46 [NIV]

Goliath did not just die when the stone hit him. Yes he died physically but David won the battle when he came against goliath in the Name of the Lord of Hosts. In the New Testament, Paul was admonishing us to do everything we do in the name of the Lord. Why is Paul saying that? It is because it is in the name of the Lord that victory is guaranteed. ‘Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the FatherPhil.2:9-11. Wherever the goliaths are, spiritual realm, on the earth, beneath the earth, and in the ocean; they are going to fall, in the Name of Jesus. That Name is so powerful. Even unbelievers know it. Back in the day, there were these guys, unbelievers. One of them was narrating how he had a dream and he was being oppressed and tormented in the dream. And the other one said to him “you should have just said Jesus and all of them would scatter”. Even the unbelievers know that the Name of Jesus works.

Regardless of the domain, the Name of Jesus is All-Powerful. It is the Stone before the stone. It is the Stone you send before the physical stone you pick. The Name of Jesus is so complete that it does not even need help. Some people think they need to help the Name of Jesus a little bit so they stress different alphabets. Some people say call the Name of Jesus seven times. Listen and listen carefully, at that Name every knee bows. If it is faith that makes you repeat it, fine but don’t think by repeating the Name of Jesus you are making it more powerful. It is complete by itself – totally complete. That Name is available to a new believer and to the oldest Christian. It is not more powerful in the mouth of the older Christian than it is in the mouth of the new believer. It is at the Name of Jesus that every knee bows of things in the heavens, of things on the earth, and of things beneath the earth. It is not at the age of the Christian or how the Name of Jesus is stressed or at the repetition of the Name. However, for the Name of Jesus to be potent in your mouth, you have to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Go to God right now and invite Jesus to be Lord in your life.

Prayer [hymn]: Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus, what a wonder You are. You’re brighter than the morning star. You’re fairer, much fairer than the lily that grows by the wayside, You are precious, more precious than gold. Amen!
