Rich In Gratitude
‘And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.’ Ecc. 5:19
If you don’t Feel Rich, you will never Act Rich so you will continue to struggle to Get Rich and you will never realize that you already Are Rich and you’ll never learn how to BE Rich. I want you to confidently feel rich otherwise you will never learn how to act rich. One of the ways of acting rich is gratitude. One of the ways of acting rich is being grateful to God. If you don’t know how to act rich, you will consistently struggle with negative emotions and struggle to get rich. You will be trying to become who you already are. Not realizing that you already are rich so you never learn to be rich. Remember, the message for the next couple of weeks is not about how to get rich but about how to be rich. Two different things!
There is more to life than chasing the elusive carrot that dangles. Now that you know that you are rich and are trying to grapple with the fact that you are rich, what next? There’s the good news and the bad news. Which would you like to know first? Lets go with the good news first. The good news is you are rich! ‘To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God’. You have to accept your lot that you are rich. Say it and accept it. Interestingly the Word of God says God gave us wealth to enjoy it. So if you are going to be good at being rich, you have to first admit that you are rich. Someone says, until you make peace with who you are, you will never be content with what you have. Do you know that only 7% of the world’s population own cars? Some of you have two cars and you are still fuming. Until you make peace with who you are, until you accept yourself for the way God has made you, there’s nothing you get that will ever make you happy – nothing! One reality you need to embrace today is you are rich. Interestingly, the only time people apologize for God’s blessing is when they are financially blessed. We feel guilty where we should be grateful particularly because of where we are coming from. When someone compliments you on your looks, you thank them and accept the compliment, right? But when someone says you are rich, you begin to claim humility. Henceforth, when someone says you are rich, accept it and glorify God. God has not called us to be proud but to be grateful.
Prayer: Father, I receive the wealth from Your hands and I receive the good health to enjoy it, in Jesus Name.
