Creating Margin

‘In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has’ Prov. 21:20.

You give more by creating margin and the way to create margin is to earn more and spend less. We gave an illustration using the scale some days ago. Using that same illustration, imagine on scale one to ten, your earning and spending is at level five. Then you attend a power packed, heaven-rending service like the God Will Do It Again service and God opens the door and you breakthrough. You move from level five earning to level eight. For some of us, we just keep our spending at level five. Then God blesses us again and you move to level ten but your spending remains at level five. Then God looks down God sees the margin then God can use it. God always uses people that have created margin. God wants us to create margin not only with our money but also with our time.

The next question is how does one spend less? I’m not going to talk about how to earn more because this is not about how to get rich. God will give you the breakthroughs in Jesus Name and you will earn more and more. But how do you spend less. You spend less by simply saying No! Have you seen a little boy or girl refusing to do what you tell them to do? Be like these little ones, say no like a toddler so that you can have margin. Buy a new dress –No! Buy another car –No! If you are a married man, you would know one thing that I have known for over twelve years, women are anointed to shop. It is not necessarily a bad thing because God gave us our money to enjoy but as a man you have to learn to say No! The key thing is to spend less you must learn how to say No! Some things you just have to say no to. God wants you to create margin by earning more and spending less. God can use people with margin. God cannot use people that don’t have margin with their money or their time. God wants you to create margin even with your time. For example Ananias [Acts 9:10-18], the man God called to go and pray for Saul so that he will receive his sight. Ananias had margin with his time; he was available to God. Some of us are too busy for God. We are even too busy to have a quiet time, just fifteen minutes to pray. God cannot even call you to go and pray for people because you are not available -no margin. You have to create margin.

Prayer: Father, teach me to create margin with my money and time, in Jesus Name.
