Your Business

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them…’ Luke 2:8-9 [KJV].

My grandmother would say, “You cannot be looking at another person’s wristwatch to determine the timing of your own life”. Everybody has his or her own timing. Which brings us to the third thing that you and I have to reinforce or learn. Your job is to mind your own business. It is wisdom to mind your own business. God is going to be doing amazing things around you. Thank God for what He is doing but focus on your own because God is going to be doing great things in your life as well. Don’t get carried away because believe me things are going to happen very rapidly and it is easy to get distracted. Mind your own business. Watch your own sheep. You will be amazed at the things God will do just because you are minding your business. You will marvel at the focus your life will have just because you are minding your business. You will be surprised at the vision that will be revealed to you just because you are minding your business.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light’ Matt.6:22. Meaning if you are focused on your own assignment and you are running your own race. You cannot run another person’s race. But you can mind your own business. It might take writing this out and sticking it on the wall or at strategic points around your turf as a constant reminder. The major challenge for a lot of lives, why they have not really grasped what God wants them to grasp, is because of this same simple fact of not minding their own business. Make up your mind that the thing God has put in your hand to do you will nurture it, pray over it, and fight anything or anyone that wages war against it spiritually and physically. That is minding your business. As a parent the children that God has placed in your custody nurture them, teach them God’s Word, pray over them, and fiercely watch over them with shield and buckler with the intention to fight both physically, emotionally, and spiritually anyone that comes against them. That is minding your own business. David was watching his father’s flock, minding his business when God chose him for the throne. Once you are minding your business, you have assurance in God that you are equipped to destroy whatever comes against your business.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace and wisdom to mind my own business for the remaining part of 2014 and in 2015, in Jesus Name.
