Implication II
“So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and His heart became impatient over the misery of Israel” Judg.10:16 [AMP]
Third Implication: Jesus is my Saviour means God rushes in to save me. God actually rushes to save you. He rushes to deliver you. He rushes to free you. Does He really? Yes He does. “There was a man there whose arms and legs were swollen. Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in religious law, “Is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not?” When they refused to answer, Jesus touched the sick man and healed him and sent him away. Then he turned to them and said, “Which of you doesn’t work on the Sabbath? If your son or your cow falls into a pit, don’t you rush to get him out?” Luke14:2-5 [emphasis added]. If you have a child and that child falls into a ditch, would you consider the fact that he did not clean his room yesterday or he disobeyed you, before you rush to rescue him? I hope not. The first instinct as a parent is to save your child. Jesus is saying if you can rush to save your own child, how much more your heavenly Father? You have asked for something; don’t you know that God is rushing behind the scene to make it happen? God is rushing? Yes! But it has been five years. Yes! The truth is that there are things that we don’t know God is doing on our behalf; but He is doing them. Even though we don’t know, God is doing them anyway.
Fourth Implication: Jesus is my Savior it means God loves me. God actually loves me. “I don’t have to know all the answers. I just have to know the God that has all the answers and that He loves me!” – Rick Warren. Things that you didn’t foresee may happen to you; even though you don’t have all the answers, you can rest in this – your God has all the answers and He loves you. Since God has all the answers and He loves me, then I can go to sleep! A lot of us can relate to God’s unconditional love because we know God needs to put up with a lot of things to love us unconditionally, right? I can understand that- but what I struggled with and which I don’t struggle with anymore is: God actually likes me. God doesn’t only love me with Agape, God actually loves me with Phileo. That was tough for me to understand and accept because, how can God like me – me? If you will, you can shut your eyes and just say, God actually likes me. Take a moment to let that sink in. God actually likes me because I know that not everybody likes me; not everybody likes you too. If you think everybody likes you, then you are in a fool’s paradise. And to think that God will like you and God will like me, it’s almost unbelievable. It is so comforting!
Prayer: Father, I am grateful; I am grateful for Your unconditional love and I am overwhelmed by the fact that You actually like me. Thank You Lord, in Jesus Name.
