But God!

And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth” Ex.34:6 [NKJV].

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.  While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!” Luke 24:1-5 [emphasis added]. This is just so profound. Sometimes, well meaning as we might be, we look for Jesus in the wrong places. Why are you looking for the living among the dead? Why are you are looking for Jesus in the wrong places? It is my prayer that even as you read this today, the resurrection power of Jesus Christ will hit your life. The people that do not understand it will still be looking for you in the wrong places. And it will be announced to them, he or she used to be here but is not here anymore. They too will be confronted with this question, why are you looking for the living among the dead? We speak to everything that has tried to confine you to the grave, lose your hold now, in the mighty Name of Jesus.

Pay attention, today may look like an ordinary day but it isn’t. God is changing your story; God is definitely changing your story. For a lot of us, seasons are going to change instantly. When you picked up the devotional today, your life was one way but by the time you are done reading this, you will be in a different season altogether, in the Name of Jesus.

All these victories are possible just because God butted in. How do I know?  But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so muchEph.2:4 [emphasis added]. Before this verse, the picture was very bleak [dead in sin, under the influence of satan…]. The truth is, that was our story. And if you are yet to surrender to Jesus, the truth is, this is your story. I am praying you will surrender today in Jesus name. In Ephesians 2:4, God interrupted the whole story. The Bible says, “But God is so rich in mercy”. God is so rich in mercy that if God had a bank account, the currency would be in mercy. So if He gives you His ATM card and pin number, when you attempt to make a withdrawal, what will come out will be large bills of mercy. I don’t know how far you think you have gone, but God’s mercy will locate you today.

Prayer: Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies [Ps.103:1&4 NKJV], in Jesus Name.
