Responsibility Of Favour II

“So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “You’re the man for us. God has given you the inside story—no one is as qualified as you in experience and wisdom. From now on, you’re in charge of my affairs; all my people will report to you. Only as king will I be over you.” Gen.41:39-40 [MSG]

To whom much is given, much is expected. I have seen Christians even Pastors doing so many things and getting away with it. Things I know I cannot try because my Father will seriously chastise me. When I was young I struggled seriously with this and would give God examples of all the people who are doing the same thing I was getting disciplined for until I finally realized that I was special. You need to realize that because you are special God will hold you responsible. Understanding this helped me stay in line. Do you want to be favored? I believe your answer is yes so I declare that you are favored already in Jesus Name. But note that with favor comes a moral responsibility.

2#: The second responsibility of favor is labor. I know that sounds contradictory because a lot of us have grown to believe that one-day of favor is more than a hundred days of labor. This is true but permit me rephrase that statement to read; one day of favored-labor is more than a hundred days of un-favored-labor. God never exempts us from labor, not at anytime. The difference is that there is just a blessed one and a cursed one. Favor is not exemption from labor; in fact it is an introduction to a higher form of labor. God took Joseph out of the prison and into the palace and made him prime minister in charge of all the resources of Egypt. The amount and sensitivity of the work Joseph did, as a slave is nothing compared to what he will have to handle as a prime minister. But guess what, they are two different kinds of work – one is laborer’s work and the other one is strategic work. But work is work! Fortunately for some people, God has taken them from laborious work and put them in strategic work and a strategic place but they are insisting on doing a laborer’s job. I came across a quote earlier in my life and it formed a lot of decisions in my life and in my career. “He that knows how will get a job. He that knows why will be the boss” Edwin Louis Cole. I realized that having technical knowhow would ensure that I have a job but because I wanted to be the boss I need to know why. The reason Jacob never felt helpless towards Laban was because he knew something that Laban didn’t know. He knew that he was a carrier of God’s Covenant – access to the supernatural is key. As a custodian of God’s Covenant you are able to create something out of nothing. Jacob had nothing but he was able to create something out of it. Why? It is because he had access to the supernatural. I am praying that you will have a renewed access to the supernatural in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Father, please give me renewed access to the supernatural and help me exercise the creating power that comes with my Covenant in Christ, in Jesus Name.
