Project and Prophesy

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Psalm 33:11

Yesterday we said, in goal setting the number one thing is acknowledging God [Ps.127:1]. We set goals knowing that God Himself sets goals. How do I know? It is in the Bible and I will show you. “He planned to bring all of history to its goal in Christ. Then Christ would be the head of everything in heaven and on earth” Eph.1:10 [GW]. God’s goal is to make Jesus Lord of everything. Sooner or later every knee will bow to Jesus; it is a question of whether you are going to bow willingly or you will be forced to bow. Every knee will bow because that is God’s goal and it is going to come to pass. How do I know? “But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Ps.33:11. God’s counsel will stand it doesn’t matter what the media says or what the law of the land allows. They may say that same sex marriage is acceptable in the western world. But guess what, God’s counsel will stand because one day everybody -the queen of England, Barack Obama, Goodluck Jonathan, you and I – everybody is going to bow to Jesus. But some of us have chosen to bow willingly. Some people will be forced to bow. Whether the world likes it or not, Jesus will be Lord because that is God’s big idea [God’s goal, God’s plan].

You may have started the year without planning but God does not want you to continue through the year without planning. God wants us to approach the rest of our year with the end in mind. God wants us to set clear-cut goals beginning now so that we do not end the year with regrets. God wants you to stop now, project, and prophesy how the rest of the year will be. The surest way to prophesy into your future is to plan, sit with God and plan. Many people are content with starting a project and going wherever the road takes them but God wants us to be deliberate. God wants you to set a target and go for the target. A lot of us are familiar with the ‘bulls eye’ in darts and in certain other shooting games. You will notice that to play a dart game, the target is set already so you go for the target. A boy was spotted playing a game of beach dart. He throws his javelin and anywhere it lands he will draw concentric circles around it and begin to jubilate that he hit the bulls eye. People who saw him told him that he is supposed to draw the concentric circles first and then aim. And his concern was missing the target? He shoots and anywhere it lands he makes it the bulls eye. God doesn’t want you to live your life like that. He wants you to sit with Him and plan.

Prayer: Father, help me sit with You to prophesy about the remaining days of the year and beyond. Lord breathe upon all my plans, in Jesus Name.
