Eyes Fixed
“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?” Luke 15:4
Many of us had set goals at the beginning of the year but guess what? This is the month July already and half of the year is gone. If this year must count, we must overcome or overpower distraction. Distraction is the one thing in your life that you must be able to deal with in order to make your life count. Distraction and not friends, enemies, or the devil [even though the devil would cause distraction], is the greatest thing that destroys destinies. There are three main sources of distraction. There may be other sources of course but if you can get these three, by the grace of God, your life will count.
The first source of distraction that you have to overcome is Another Vision otherwise known as Di–vision. This is where the word division comes from. Let me paint a scenario for you, the enemy wants to destroy your life, he tries to attack you but he fails. Why? It is because you know spiritual warfare and you know how to engage. So he discovers that attacking you is useless so what he will try to do next is to give you another vision to cause division in your life. “But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God” Luke 9:62. This is a classic example of di-vision. Jesus did not say anyone that lays his hand on the plough and then abandons the plough. The person Jesus is describing still has his or her hands on the plough but his or her eyes are now on something else. The plough is that business God told you to start, the position God has given you, the family He has blessed you with, those children he has given, the ministry He has called you to. He that lays his hand on the plough and looks back is unfit. In other words, what you are ploughing will never be straight and such things are not acceptable in the Kingdom. Looking back is taking your eyes off the goal, off the assignment, off the call, off the work, your hand may still be on the goal or on the assignment but your eyes have shifted to something else. I am praying today that not only will your hands be on the plough your eyes will be fixed on the plough. So that heaven will not say of you unfit but rather heaven will see you as fit in Jesus Name.
Keep your eyes on your mission! You have heard people say mind your business right? Permit me to rephrase that to eye your business or mission. Keep your eyes fixed on your mission, on your business. How do you think the man is able to detect one sheep is missing [Luke 15:4] out of a hundred? His eyes are on his business, on his mission.
Prayer: Lord, by Your Spirit, help me eliminate distraction from my life and calling, in Jesus Name.
