One Vision, One Voice

“Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Come, let us go down and confuse the people with different languages…” Gen.11:6-7

Someone says to me, how do you always know everything that happens in your office even when you are not there? It is my business to know and so my eyes [physical and spiritual] are on the business. I am always watching because that is my calling, my goal, and my objective. Sadly, there are some of us that things are happening in our houses, under our nose and we have no clue. How can you be the man or woman of the house and you do not know what is happening in your house? Something is wrong with that because that puts you in a compromised situation. Everything that comes in and goes out of your house is your business and you can never outgrow it. The day you outgrow it, you are growing into trouble. Things are happening under your very nose and you have no clue? Something is wrong with that. Mind your business! The same goes for your career, keep your eyes peeled and focus on the mission before you. Focus on the goals you have set this year. Make up your mind to keep your eyes focused on the mission. The bureau of statistics in some country said that a large percentage of accidents on the road are caused is by distraction [a phone call or text message]. So someone is driving at the speed of eighty kilometer per hour and the average distraction last for four point six seconds. Being distracted for four point six seconds while driving at eighty kilometer per hour translates to going the width of a football field blind. Guess what? As serious as this is because a lot of lives have been lost, pertains to physical things like driving. How about in our lives, in your career, in your calling, your destiny, you need to keep your eyes on the mission. It might help you from time to time to say out loud to yourself – keep your eyes on the mission.

The second source of distraction is Another Tongue also known as Confusion. In Genesis 11:1-9 [please read], the people of the world came together and decided to build a city, raise a tower that will be as high as the heavens. Their goal was to remain together and not be scattered throughout the earth. Meanwhile God instructed man to be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth but men said let us stay together and not multiply. God highlighted something important in this portion of scripture; as long as this people are united, as long as they are speaking the same language nothing will be impossible for them to do. As long as your family is united, as long as the church remains united, as long as a couple is speaking the same language nothing will be impossible for you to do.

Prayer: Father, I pray for Nigeria, God’s Favourite House, and my family, Lord unite us in vision and tongue by Your Spirit and nothing will be impossible for us, in Jesus Name.
