Worship II

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” Matt.18:20 [emphasis added].

The Bible describes us as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation. And guess what? God has established in you and I through Jesus Christ the priesthood that gives us access to Him. Jesus’ promise to us is that where two or three are gathered in His Name he will show up in their midst. The Presence of Jesus is the power of the church.“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” . This is so powerful and this is the power of the church. We believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and well. We believe in the gift of the Holy Spirit and we believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. A lady once told me she wanted to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and my thought was to link her up with someone that would pray for her to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But that did not happen. And the next time I saw her I was determined to make that link happen immediately but she told me I did not have to worry about doing that any more because she had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I was excited to find out how that happened. She said she was at her church departmental meeting and as they were praying, she too began to pray in tongues. Isn’t that fantastic? Where God is there is no ceremony. As you faithfully come into His Presence, God will sort you out in every area, in Jesus Name. God is healing you, touching you, and cleansing you. Just you and Him, no drama! And it is simply because He has promised that where two or three are gathered in My name there I am in their midst.

I was listening to a lady minister at one of the conferences I attended sometime ago and she said that she went to Starbucks and there was no coffee. Starbucks is presumably the number one coffee house in the world. So she tweeted about it, ‘I’m in Starbucks and there is no coffee’. And somebody tweeted back ‘I was in MacDonald’s the other day and they did not have burgers’. Another person responded, ‘I was in KFC and they did not have chicken’. And it went on and on. Like everyone, our immediate thought is what is wrong with these people, right? But the irony of this whole thing is if we gather in church and Jesus is not present, it is like going to Starbucks and there is no coffee, or going to Mr. Biggs and there is no meat pie. That is a very odd picture. The most important person and the One that must be at every one of our gatherings is Jesus because it is all about Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me always remember that it is all about You and help me to keep my focus on You alone, in Jesus Name.
