Worship Him!

“Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking,  “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” Matt.2:1-2

Over the next few days we will be learning about worship. It is my prayer that as we engage daily, the throne of our Heavenly Father will be established in our hearts and lives.

As a believer the act of worship is very significant. Some people love to pray and that is fantastic. I love to pray. But we ought to love to worship also because if we understand worship, our lives will change totally. Worship is very powerful. Worship is something that God will not share. God can share His blessing, He does and we thank Him for that. God can share His power, He does and we are grateful for it. God can share the Holy of Holies, He tells us to come boldly. He can share His wisdom, He says if anybody lacks wisdom let him ask and I will give. But something that God cannot, will not, and does not share is His worship. “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve”. God is magnanimous enough to share His wisdom, blessings, and power but He protects His worship. This kind of reveals to us how crucial worship is to God. Angels have this aura about them and we understand that it comes from being in the Presence of God. And because of that aura when people encounter them in Scripture they subconsciously fall down to worship angels. But the angels of light always redirect your worship to God. The angels that receive worship are not angels of God but rather they are actually demons.

The life of Jesus began with people seeking to worship Him. “Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him” Matt.2:1-2. While every angel will reject worship, Jesus never rejected worship – not once! What does that tell you about Jesus? He is God! Even as a baby Jesus was sort out for worship. It is all about worship. God told Moses to say to Pharaoh let My people go so that they may worship Me. Jesus came to set you and I free so that we can worship God. And everything that does not allow you to worship God is a Pharaoh as it were and you can invoke the judgment of God upon it. As far as God is concerned it is all about worship. Salvation ultimately is to unite us with our Father in worship. And the enemy also knows that, because the enemy is also out to get worship. The Scripture says of lucifer, conceited in his heart he said I will lift up my throne like the Most High, I will be like the Most High. What he was looking for was worship.

Prayer [song]: Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord, God Almighty, early in the morning my song shall rise to Thee. Holy! Holy! Holy! Merciful and Mighty, God in three Persons, blessed Trinity. Amen!
