Confront It!
“You are the light of the world…” Matt.5:14 [emphasis added]
Jesus was walking on the streets of Nazareth he was not a threat to anybody as long as he was baring Jesus the son of the carpenter. The day he said “I am the Christ, Jesus Christ”, they said they will kill him. Why? It is because your name triggers your destiny. Zechariah wrote “his name is John”, he did not write “his name will be John” because the destiny is preordained. Guess what happened to Zechariah? He was dumb but he began to speak. The yoke of the father was broken when the father released the son into his destiny.
When a father releases his children into their destiny, his yoke is broken and his own greatness [coast] is expanded. And guess what? John became greater than his father. His father was a priest but John was a prophet. Not only was he a prophet, Jesus said of all that were born of women up until that time none was greater than John. So John was greater than his father. Why limit his destiny to your own mediocrity. It is not that you are even that great yet. But you will be very great in Jesus Name. You are the light of the world! Please do not deprive us of you. We want to meet you, unleash yourself to us and let the name of Jesus be glorified.
The third thing that tries to prevent us from taking our Stand and limiting the glow of our light is the fear of confrontation. Standing Tall is not about being arrogant it is about being relevant. And many times relevance requires confrontation. The people of Israel had been in bondage for 300-400 years. They cried to God and God wanted to break that yoke. Moses needed to be relevant in the issue. “And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh…” Ex.8:20. You need to understand that Pharaoh at the time was all-powerful. But God said, go and Stand Tall before Pharaoh, go and confront Pharaoh.
I do not know what is symbolic of Pharaoh that is crippling or intimidating you. But I believe God is saying to you, go and Stand before Pharaoh. Why? It is because you cannot be free from what you are unwilling to confront. God says to go and confront Pharaoh. If you refuse to confront it, fine, stay with it and enjoy it. But please do not complain. But if you want change, you have to stand up and Stand Tall.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, rid me completely of the fear of confrontation, in Jesus Name.
