Set Apart

“…They have stolen some of the things that I commanded must be set apart for me…” Josh.7:11 [emphasis added]

With the personal covenant I have with God,  there  are certain things in my life which He requires that I set aside for Him. Such things God has not asked you to set aside for Him. Do you understand? There are certain things that God requires of me and only me to set aside. He is not asking you to set aside those same things. So I must not erode those things. You need to find out what it is for you. Every life has a Covenant. There is a general Covenant but everyone should locate his or her Covenant with God. Locate your Covenant with God and find out what He requires you to set aside for Him.

Take Adam and Eve for instance, God gave them a fantastic garden. And God said to eat everything else but set aside the tree for Him and not touch it. I am sure you must have heard or read this story but permit me to point out again, that was the tree they went to eat from. The only one God said not to touch. God blesses us and He says to us, do not eat one-tenth of your income, it is Mine. And we challenge it – how? why?

I was listening the story of an entrepreneur who had done very well for himself on a podcast. He started up early and became a multi-millionaire at twenty two or there about. Then he lost everything by twenty-seven, his account was not even on zero – it was on negative. But he bounced back and today he is much wealthier than he was. One thing he kept saying during the interview is, I am a self-made millionaire. And I laughed because there is no such thing as a self-made millionaire. Still, I listened to the story and learnt what I needed to learn. From his story, I could clearly see how God helped him. How did his luck turn around? He went somewhere and saw another man do something he did not know was possible. And while he was marveling, the man offered to teach him and his lot turned around. Yet he says he is a self-made millionaire. Who orchestrated his steps and made the other man willing to share the information?

How foolish are we many times. Even your body is not your own. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, it is not yours. So you cannot just sleep with whoever you want to sleep with. Say aloud, my body belongs to God

Prayer: Lord Jesus, let it please You to reveal my personal covenant to me so that ignorance will not cause me to sin against You, in Jesus Name.
