Fess-up!

“Suppose I wanted to hide from you and said, “Surely the darkness will hide me. The day will change into night and cover me.” Even the darkness is not dark to you. The night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same” Ps. 139:11-12

“…And they have not only stolen them but have lied about it and hidden the things among their own belongingsJosh.7:11 [emphasis added]. You could almost feel God’s pain reading this portion of Scripture. “They have not only stolen, but they have hidden it and lied about it.” One of your greatest assets in your walk with God is your sincerity. If you have done something, no matter what it is, be sincere with your heavenly Father. David is an amazing example of this. Just ask for mercy and stop hiding.

Jesus could relate to every kind of sinner. Even when He was dying, there was a sinner by His side and Jesus still had mercy on him. The only group of people Jesus could not stand were hypocrites. Jesus could stand prostitutes, a prostitute actually kissed His feet and Jesus did not kick her away. And people were saying “if this man where a prophet would he not know that this woman is a sinner?” Jesus did not mind. The only group of people Jesus could not stand were hypocrites. Hypocrites are people that will hide their sins. People that are crafty and cunning and will lie about their sins. Jesus could not stand people that would come and tell you one thing but do another.

It has happened to me many times. People come up to me saying one thing but I can hear another thing. When I was younger, I would confront them and tell them the truth. But now I just listen and smile. I’m tired of fighting such people. Sam Chand says, “when you mess-up you fess-up”. To fess simply means to confess. Everybody messes up one time or the other but when you mess-up you fess-up. You need to stop hiding and come clean.

“That is why the Israelites are running from their enemies in defeat [therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies]… “Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you” Josh.7:12-13 [emphasis added].  I am praying that you will defeat your enemies in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to have a sincere heart in everything I do and with You, in Jesus Name.
