Yoked II
“And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” Lu.13:13 [emphasis added]
When we were being trained to pastor, one of the things we were taught is, as you climb spiritually, make sure you carry your spouse along. I say spouse because sometimes it is the women that climb faster. In any case, just ensure that you carry your spouse along. Why? The reason is if you crash, you are crashing to the level of the slower climber. Imagine you have climbed to the tenth floor and your spouse is still on the second floor. When there is a crash, you will both end up on the second floor and that is the reality. But Jesus wants you to yoke with Him. So that He can teach you, train you, and then you will be on His speed. Jesus wants you to operate on the same speed with Him. In case you are in doubt, Jesus says, “For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” Matt.11:30.
“And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” Lu.13:13 [emphasis added]. I love the word immediately. Your being bent and not being able to stand straight does not give glory to God. Being bent financially does not glorify God. Some people say they have issues with prosperity. My advice to such people is try poverty. There is nothing glorifying in poverty; believe me! Why is it that when you get a huge breakthrough you begin to sing praises? The praise flows from you effortlessly; you do not need the choir’s help to praise anymore. Why is it that if you are trusting God for the fruit of the womb, then you conceive and give birth; Why does praise and glorifying God flow effortlessly? It is simple; being bent over and not being able to stand up straight does not glorify God.
When we cannot take charge spiritually and pray and be who God has called us to be, it does not glorify God. If I am an emotional wreck [bent over emotionally], it does not glorify God. Jesus will lay His hands on us today and we will all be healed immediately! Maryanne Williamson says, “We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and…?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God”. Never apologize for standing tall. I am not saying be arrogant, I am saying never ever apologize for standing tall.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for laying hands on me. I receive Your grace to Stand Tall in all the areas where I had been bent over, in Jesus Name.
