Consider This

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God” 1 Sam.30:6 [KJV]

Why are you so angry? Yesterday, we saw how anger kept Moses from entering his destiny. Anger will not keep you from entering your Promised Land, in Jesus Name. But you still need to watch out for it. We need to examine and weigh what we get angry about. Why are you so angry? Why do you allow yourself to be so short fused? Someone said, that is how we are in our family; when we get angry, we break things. But it will change with you in the Name of Jesus. Why must anger detune your destiny? Make up your mind today not to let anger detune your destiny and so shall it be in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

Weigh the things that vex you. The question I ask myself and I am challenging you to ask yourself is, will this thing that is upsetting you so much, matter in a hundred years? Think about it. Will what you are angry about today matter in a hundred years from now? So I say to myself, you are irritated and angry that your wife is pressing the toothpaste from the middle. Will that be important in a hundred years? So what should you and I do? Let it go!

Do be too concerned about people turning you into a fool. Look at this way; you will be a fool for Christ’s sake. The bottom line is this; many of us are getting angry and losing greater virtues over things that will not even be relevant in ten minutes. And with some things we get so angry about, in ten hours or ten days it is gone. But you have spoilt things that are worth much more.

#2. The second thing that detunes us is Hope Deferred. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of lifeProv.13:12. When hope is deferred, it detunes the heart. The things we are trusting God for, sometimes when they linger, it detunes or attempts to detune us. This is something that I have seen play out in a lot of people’s lives and sometimes I too find myself struggling with this. But God is saying to you and to me today, now you know what to watch out for. Stay alert, be careful, and re-tune. Yes the promotion, or job, or child, or marriage has not happened yet. I am not saying deny it but I am saying be like David and encourage yourself in the Lord instead of getting out of tune.

Prayer [song]: O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You. I will praise Your Name. For You have done wonderful things. Your counsel of old is faithfulness and truth. Amen!
