The Power II
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” Rom.8:11
The Resurrection Power gives you and I power to live. And with the power to live comes the power to love. That power that God has given you is the power to love. “And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love” Rom.5:5 [emphasis added]. Everyone that has experienced the Resurrection Power has their hearts filled with love, not hate, not envy not bitterness, not malice but filled with love.
The capacity to love is in you. Invariably, the Resurrection Power gives us the power to forgive. If you find out that you cannot forgive, you need to go back to the roots. Something is wrong with your connection to The Resurrection Power. If you find out that you struggle with forgiving people who have hurt you, then go back to the roots. Why? Because the Resurrection Power gives us power to forgive. Jesus did not say do not offend one another. When I first read that part of the Bible, it upset me. Why would God say forgive one another instead of do not offend one another? But with time, I realized that for God to say forgive one another, it implies that people will offend you. The Resurrection Power does not only enable you to trample upon serpents and scorpions, it also enables you to love and forgive. And it is the same power!
To get in contact with this God, all we need to do is believe. Only believe! Isn’t that simplistic? Exactly, that is where God is. Only believe! So many things separated Jesus from all the other so-called religious leaders [the people that started movements]. Every one of them pointed people to believe in principles or in higher being. Jesus taught His people to believe in Him. There is no leader of any form of religion that says to people – believe in me or put your faith in me.
When Martha came and said to Jesus, if you had been here my brother would not have died, Jesus did not say I can explain the Resurrection and the Life. Jesus did not say I can point you to the Resurrection and the Life. Jesus did not say let us go and consult the Resurrection and the Life. Jesus said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life”.
Prayer [song]: All honor. All glory. All power to You [repeat]. Holy Father we worship You. Precious Jesus our Savior. Holy Spirit we wait on you (3x), for fire [repeat]. Amen!
