Have A Plan

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Prov.29:18  [KJV]

We will be learning a lot from historical warfare and tying them to Scripture. About 331 BC, there was a king called Darius The Third; he was in charge of Persia. And there was a young Macedonian general called Alexandra the Great. Alexandra was just twenty-five years old and he many conquered territories. But God has a sense of humor. Alexandra conquered territories but got to India and died of malaria on his way back. An ordinary mosquito! I fear God and you should too.

Darius had two hundred thousand infantry Calvary lined up. Alexander had fifty thousand soldiers. Darius’ plan was – we are many, let us attack them; we will win them. But Alexandra’s plan was different. He allowed Darius to capture some of his men and torture them until they began to confess but they were confessing wrong Intel. They told Darius that Alexandra would attack at night. So Darius set up his whole army ready for battle, all night long they did not sleep. Alexandra allowed his soldiers to have a good night sleep but had a few of them shooting arrows just to prep up the enemy’s array. And by morning Alexandra’s men were sharp but Darius’ men were tired. Secondly, his plan was to put his identity on display. So you will always see Alexandra dressed in shining armor, helmet with all jewels, sitting on his black horse. Everyone in his camp and everyone in the enemy’s camp could see him. His fifty thousand men had one objective – attack the flanks and create space in the center. Then he goes straight through and kills the King of the opposing side. He knew that once he killed the king of the opposing side or got him to run, that will be the end.

It sounds simple, right? But it is a plan. Alexandra implemented his plan; the flanks opened up, he rode straight through, struck Darius and two hundred thousand soldiers fled. The Persians had ninety thousand dead people but Alexandra had only fifty dead people. What was the difference? One had a plan [an objective] and the other did not. Do not leave your life to chance. What is your objective?

Prayer: Father, I pray that I will not perish in any area of my life this year because I will set objectives and You Lord will crown me with victory, in Jesus Name.
