Clear And Simple

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Prov.29:18  [KJV]

The principle of The Objective states thus: “Direct all efforts towards a clearly defined, decisive & attainable objective. Three key things jump out immediately from this definition. Direct all efforts towards a Clearly Defined, Decisive and Attainable objective.

#3. Clearly Defined: Make the objective clear and simple. In Joshua 6:3-5, God was clear, “March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the Ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, every one straight in” [NIV]. Clearly defined! Strive for clarity. When I heard the instructions the US General Eisenhower gave during the World War II, I was amazed at its clarity. His instructions were; proceed to London, occupy Europe, and get rid of the Germans. Sadly, many times because we are not clear we are busy doing things that are not necessary.

Someone said, the very worst thing you can do is to spend your time to do well, something that should not be done at all. They are going to mark your exams on algebra, you get to the exam hall and you see a question on algebra. But you insist that you know abstract theory of statistics, and then you do not answer the algebra question. So you pour your knowledge of statistics on the paper hoping to impress the professor. The only mark you will get for that is a fail because you have wasted your time on what is not important. The very worst use of time is to do something well that need not be done at all.

Clarity is key! Seek clarity with all your might. And how do you get clarity? You get clarity from two sources. Clarity comes from God speaking and from clear thinking. Many times we are asking God to speak and God will speak but sometimes God wants you to think. You must know the difference. You are saying, God speak your servant is listening but God says, no, you think; your God is waiting. Clear thinking is so powerful.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me achieve clarity of thought in this season. Help me also discern clearly Your instructions to me in this season, in Jesus Name.
