Move Quickly!

As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him… taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down…” 1 Sam.17:48 – 49 [emphasis added]

Saul said to David, ‘you cannot kill this Goliath’. David answered back, ‘I will kill him’ and went on to give his reasons. I killed the bear, I killed the lion, and I will kill this Goliath too. Goliath cursed David with his gods. David said you come to me with sword and spear but I come to you in the Name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied. Today, I will cut off your head and give your flesh to the birds. Note that the person that was speaking did not even have a sword. The whole thing made Goliath furious. The Bible says Goliath moved towards David and David says, “Offence? I am a master of offence”. David ran quickly towards Goliath, reached into his pocket, took out a stone and hit the Philistine’s forehead. Goliath stumbled and fell face down.

We have analyzed the details of this battle several times but I am going to do it again. David threw the stone and it hit Goliath’s forehead. If it was the stone that killed Goliath, coming at a high velocity and hitting Goliath’s forehead, what should happen naturally is Goliath will stagger and fall backwards, right? But the Bible says the stone hit his head, Goliath staggered and fell forward. That tells me there was an unseen force just waiting for David to release his stone. As he did, they guided it so that it would not look like nothing happened. And as the stone touched Goliath’s head, they wacked him from heaven and he fell forward. Read the Bible; it is in the Bible. Every time you move forward and attack, heaven moves forward with you.

Every time you take a step in God, heaven goes ahead of you. David did not say let me go and pray. David said, this Philistine is coming down. And God is saying to you this morning get up and attack. For some of us, the attacking we need to do is in our education. But you need some personal development for the attacking to happen. Get up and do it! “…and the Lord answered him, Pursue: for you will surely overtake them, and without fail recover all” 1Sam.30:8. You do not recover all on the defensive; you only recover all on the offensive.

Prayer: Father, as I move on the offensive in the areas You have pointed out to me, show me Your approval from heaven, in Jesus Name.
