Seek & Squeeze
“But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me” Luke 8:46
I remember sitting down with Craig Groeschel, the Pastor of Life Church and practically squeezing him with my questions. I knew without a doubt that he knew more than me. I was hungry to acquire that knowledge so I did not pretend. Arrogance will not take anyone anywhere. Some of you think you know. The truth – you cannot begin to ask questions until you know you do not know. When some people ask questions, you can tell that they are not really seeking to know but trying to impress you with the knowledge they think they have. When such people come to me with their “pretend questions”, I delay my response and they offer the answers. I just smile and say that is one way of looking at it. And because they really are not seeking to know but to show, they leave.
There are people around you that have what can change your life; you need to squeeze it out of then. Jesus was in the midst of a crowd and everyone was bumping into Him, after all he was just like every other regular man in the crowd. But the woman with the issue of blood said, if I can touch the hem of His garment I will be made whole. And that was exactly what happened. Immediately, Jesus said who touched me. Peter said Lord, we are in a crowd and everybody is touching you. Jesus said someone touched me and the woman came forward and owned up [Luke 8:42-48 paraphrased]. What am I saying? Do not be casual with people that can change your destiny.
In the World War II, the U.S. gained the advantage over the Japanese intelligence when they discovered a native Indian tribe called the Navajos. Until that time, the Navajo language was not documented and it was spoken only by a few thousand people. What is coding? It is a language that cannot be understood, right? So why spend money building ciphers when you have people that can speak a language nobody understands. So they took hundreds of the Navajo tribesmen and distributed them on their warships and they spoke Navajo language across open communication lines. The Japanese ran it through every program they had but nothing turned up. The U.S. devastated Japan and won the war. The U.S. could easily have ignored the Navajos. There are people in your life that would determine your victory; your job is to seek them out.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, please sharpen my discernment of people and seasons so that I will not miss the destiny connections You have set up for me, in Jesus Name.
