No Options
“As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband” Eph.5:31 & 33
The most secure places in God do not provide us with options. Marriage for instance, is one of most secured places. But God has not provided us with options in the marriage. Once you are married, you are married. No ‘plan B’. One man says, “what if my wife cannot do xyz, I need to have options”. There are no options because you are in one of the most secured places in God. And the most secured places in God do not provide us with options.
Another man says, “what if my wife is unable to give me a female child? She keeps having boys and it is the girls that take care of their parents in old age. Shouldn’t I have options?” No options. Perhaps your sixth child will be a girl. For yet another man it is a male child he wants and he wants to know what his options are. You have only one option, that woman that you married.
What if we are trusting God for the fruit of the womb and there are no children yet, what are our options? Ask Abraham about the option he took. The result is Ishmael and the world is still suffering till today. Trust God who has said none will be barren in the land. The most secure places in God do not provide us with options.
For some ladies, the concern is, what if their husband does not have money? As funny as that sounds, for some women that is a major issue. In fact, I have seen a woman that walked out on her husband and marriage because he was struggling financially. No options – you stick with him; that is your portion. The most secure places in God do not provide us with options. Another example is your calling; the gifts and the callings of God are without repentance. Some people do not really understand that. They think they can continue to mess around and nothing will happen. No, it means God does not change His mind. He does not give you options. That is what it means primarily. If God has called you, He has called you. I was giving an assignment to some ministers and one of them said, this assignment is hard; can I be a Jonah? And I said to him, for every Jonah there is a whale.
Prayer: Father, help me to stay under the things You have placed above me so that I can stay above the things You have placed under me, in Jesus Name.
