To Exploit
“I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work” Jn.9:4
You do not need anyone to convince you that life is a battle. You are the general so you are calling the shots; but you have to be equipped. We believe that God will give us victory this year, in Jesus Name. However, we need to deploy proven military strategies to guarantee and secure these victories. If war generals that did not know God were able to deploy scriptural principles and secure victory, then we should be able to learn from them, learn from scriptures, deploy the same principles and secure our victory.
Jesus says, “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work”. To exploit something is to take full advantage of that thing. We typically associate the word exploitation to something negative because we have been exploited. The negativity of exploitation dominates our thinking and rightfully so. Sadly, this world is full of people exploiting each other and exploiting the system and that is bad. A newborn baby legitimately cries because it feels hungry. The mother and everyone around run to attend to the baby and it discovers that this thing called crying is a weapon. In fact, it is proven that babies are better mind readers than adults. A baby can scan a room and read everybody’s emotions. So the baby learns very quickly to exploit the situation. So hungry or not, the baby cries and gets the attention it desires. The day the baby cries and everybody ignores it, the baby will change its strategy.
Human beings try to exploit situations. Capitalism for instance is rooted in exploitation even though it has its good sides; but it is mostly evil. We see spouses manipulating and exploiting each other. A woman knows her husband really needs to sleep so she targets that exact time to pester him to give her what she wants. That is manipulation and it is like witchcraft. In any case, our focus over the next few days is not on the negative side of exploitation but you need to know that it exists and it does not take anything away from the positive side of exploitation.
Prayer: Father, please increase my capacity for all that You are pouring out in this season and empower me to do the work of God with urgency, in Jesus Name.
