Key Thoughts II

“Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything” Prov.11:24

As long as you are on earth, you are going to be dealing with people. People are capable of giving you the greatest joy in life. People are capable of causing you the greatest pain in life. It is people that are going to open the door to your next level or stand in the door way and try to frustrate your life. Everyone you are in a relationship with, you are dealing with [your boss, spouse, child, friend, customer…] naturally prefers more to less, sooner rather than later, easier to difficult, certainty to uncertainty. If you understand that, you will be a master of leading and dealing with people.

What does your spouse want? He or she prefers it more than less. He or she prefers it sooner than later. He or she wants it easier than when you make life more difficult for him or before he or she gets it. And he or she wants it certainly rather than being uncertain. Think about it. And God wants you and I to use this to our understanding and relationship with people. I know the economists will tell us there are other building blocks but for the layman, these are the basics. But unfortunately this natural economic affinity of human beings creates what we call destiny destroyers. Preferring more over less creates greed. Greed is a destiny destroyer. Choosing sooner rather than later [rather than delayed gratification] creates impatience. Impatience is a destiny destroyer. Wanting things to be easier rather than difficult creates laziness. Laziness is a destiny destroyer. Preferring certainty over uncertainty feeds risks aversion. It cripples our abilities to take risks and that is a destiny destroyer.

The fulfillment of every destiny will require you to take several steps of faith. So for you to have victory and fulfill your destiny, you need to turn these destiny destroyers into destiny accelerators. So replace greed with generosity. Generosity in place of greed accelerates destines. “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty Pr.11:24 [NIV]. There is an undue way of withholding that becomes poverty. Greed will decelerate your destiny. Generosity will accelerate your destiny.

Prayer: Father, help me freely give as I have freely received, in Jesus Name.
