Surprise!

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think” Eph.3:20

God can do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think. The Biblical definition of surprise is to cause to feel wonder, astonishment, and amazement. In other words, that Scripture is saying God is able to surprise. God is able to surprise you, able to surprise me, and able to surprise our enemies. As the general of your life, it is your responsibility to understand the Principle of Surprise, unleash it, and deploy it to gain advantage. Every general knows that the Principle of Surprise works in your office, in your business, in your house, and in your relationships. It works everywhere.

So how do I use the principle of surprise in my relationship? Imagine that your marriage has been kind of losing steam. That is the right place to deploy the Principle of Surprise. The only time I cook up a lie is when I am planning to surprise my wife. For example, I say to her, “let us go to the cinema”. She gets excited and gets into the car. Meanwhile, I have bought a return ticket to Calabar. So I take her straight to the airport and off to Calabar and she has nothing packed. When she gets to Calabar she shops for everything she needs and for new clothes for the following day. That is the Principle of Surprise. I can assure you that the fire will come back into your marriage.

You can deploy these principles everywhere. A young man seeking to woo a lady is quick to promise heaven and earth. Have you noticed that? And she is always wise enough [not foolish enough] to believe. A promise is good but surprise is better. Write that down, you will need it someday.

The Principle of Surprise in warfare simply states: accomplish your purpose before the enemy can react effectively. Accomplish your purpose before your enemy can react effectively. In fact, most military campaigns [most wars] were triggered by surprise. If you check historical warfare most battles were launched by a surprise attack. You would hardly find two warring nations agree on a time to begin the battle. One would usually sneak up on the other. Why? It is because surprise is a principle of war.
